What to do in Simi Valley
Here are my favorite places and things to do if you’re planning a visit (or even just passing through)!
Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum

This is a must-visit—even if you’re not a history buff. One of Simi Valley’s crown jewels, the museum sits atop a hill with sweeping views of the valley. Beyond its stunning location, the museum offers a deeply moving look at Reagan’s life and legacy. One of the highlights is touring the actual Air Force One used during his presidency.

The current exhibit, “The Dead Sea Scrolls,” was one of the standout highlights of my visit. If you’re planning a trip between now and September 2, 2025, be sure to catch this rare and extraordinary display!
Strathearn Historical Park & Museum

Step back in time at the Strathearn Historical Park, where preserved homes, buildings, and artifacts tell the story of Simi Valley’s early days. The peaceful grounds and friendly docents make it feel like you’re walking through a living history book. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves local stories and hidden treasures.
Corriganville Park

A former movie ranch turned public park, this spot is great for hiking and spotting remnants of old Western film sets. The trails are family-friendly and dotted with interpretive signs that reveal the area’s cinematic past.
Skateboarding Hall of Fame Museum

For something quirky and cool, check out this museum dedicated to skateboarding culture—complete with vintage boards, memorabilia, and classic video clips.
Simi Hills Neighborhood Park

Nestled at the entrance of the Simi Hills Golf Course in Simi Valley, Simi Hills Neighborhood Park offers a serene retreat for visitors of all ages. This shaded park is home to a scenic lagoon filled with ducks and turtles, offering a calm, relaxing atmosphere – perfect for a peaceful stroll. I noticed a few people there fishing by the lagoon.
Santa Susana Depot Museum and Model Railroad

All aboard for a bit of train history! The Santa Susana Depot Museum is a delight for kids and adults alike, featuring restored train artifacts and an intricate model railroad display. It’s a quick but memorable stop that adds a fun, nostalgic touch to your Simi Valley itinerary.
Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center

Catch a performance at the charming Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, housed in a beautifully restored 1920s building. While I was eager to explore its historic architecture, I found out it was closed when I visited over the weekend. It’s a good idea to check their schedule to ensure the center is open during your visit.
Underwood Family Farms

Just a short drive from Simi Valley, Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark is a fun and charming spot for families and visitors to enjoy. Visitors can enjoy pick-your-own fruits and vegetables, tractor rides, animal encounters, and seasonal festivals. The farm is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, providing a perfect setting for a day of outdoor fun and fresh produce.

I took these photos in March at Underwood Family Farms – just 45 minutes from Los Angeles and their tulip garden was truly the dreamiest I’ve ever seen.
Simi Valley Town Center

Located at 1555 Simi Town Center Way, the Simi Valley Town Center is a lifestyle shopping center featuring a variety of retail stores, dining options, and entertainment venues. It’s a great spot to unwind, catch a movie, or enjoy a meal after a day of exploring the city.
Rocky Peak Park

Outdoor lovers will enjoy hiking this rugged trail with panoramic views over the Santa Susana Mountains. It’s a local favorite, especially at sunset.
