If you’re looking for a peaceful and unique getaway in Bali, Veluvana Bamboo House is an ideal place to stay! Nestled in the heart of Sidemen Valley, it is a peaceful haven, far from the crowd, where you can immerse yourself in the authentic Balinese way of life. Imagine yourself waking up to the soothing sounds of the jungle, surrounded by lush greenery, rice terraces, and beautiful views of Mt. Agung. I didn’t want to leave and I’m already dreaming of my next visit in the coming year.
My stay at Veluvana Bamboo House is a dream come true, and it’s exactly what I had envisioned for my ideal getaway. This bamboo house is a dreamy abode, a peaceful haven that’s a true escape from the world. See the beauty of this place come alive in my reel.
The Manta House
What to expect and know before booking your stay here
- Veluvana is located on the southern flank of Mount Agung, away from the bustling tourist spots.
- The bamboo house is designed with an open concept and minimal boundaries, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. While there is no traditional doors in the classical sense, there are still ways to control the flow of space and maintain privacy within the house.
- Veluvana offers fresh and delicious meals delivered right to your poolside.
- You will hear the sounds of wildlife during the day, especially at night.
- Veluvana has 5 bamboo houses – I stayed at their Manta House.
The Manta House is a one-bed haven, designed for two, perfect for couples seeking a romantic escape. My sister and I had the place all to ourselves, indulging in the peaceful vibes of our own private paradise.
While the option to cook our own meals was available, we chose to indulge in the resort’s dining services instead.
Floating Breakfast
A stay at this dreamy place isn’t complete without experiencing the floating breakfast. Imagine a morning so serene, with a poolside breakfast surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing views of rice fields? While the idea of a floating breakfast seems like a unique experience, it didn’t quite resonate with me. The experience of eating from a floating tray was downright uncomfortable. It’s really all about getting a good shot for social media.
How to get there
If you’re arriving from the Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Despansar International Airport, the drive may take 2 hours or less, covering a distance of approx 57 km (35.5 miles), depending on traffic. I recommend arranging for the resort/hotel to send a driver to pick you up from the airport in advance. This will give you peace of mind and allow you to relax from the moment you arrive.
